I can’t believe how much this little two year old grew over the past year – so much taller, longer hair and such a great personality. She was full of smiles and silly faces for the session. Happy Birthday, sweetie!!

In order to tell you why I love doing what I do, I have to make a confession. I have a horrible memory. I never know if I actually remember events or if I just remember them because I have seen photographs of them. Fortunately, I have always carried a camera everywhere, taking pictures of everything (much to the annoyance of many of my friends and family) so I can look back at the photographs and always remember!
Documenting every moment is the root of my style. I want you to be able to remember everything & everyone as they are at that time in their life. Even if it means a baby is constantly making spit bubbles, or holds his fingers in his mouth, it isn't an imperfection, it is a memory of that time in their life. If a five year old is as crazy as can be, let's not force him to sit up straight and tilt his head to the camera, let's remember who he is.
I love working inside the studio and with nature as the backdrop. I love new babies, kids of all ages, seniors, families & weddings. I take pride in keeping my work modern and fresh by going to photography workshops and seminars throughout the year.
I look forward to meeting you and creating photographs so you are able to always remember the special moments in your life.

It’s always great to see this little guy because I get to chit chat with one of my classmates from High School – it’s always great to see you guys!!
I had such a hard time narrowing down this little guy’s images for the family to look at because he is just SO CUTE!! He is 6 months old now and is at the phase where he always wants his hands in his mouth. Most parents want to take the hands out of their mouths right away – I LOVE the little hands in the mouth & want to be sure to capture this time in their lives, but also love to get their great smiles too – he gave us a little of both!

We had so much fun with the bubbles and this little guy – he was just amazed by them! He was done with us by the end though (notice the bottom left image in this set!)

and the best – the “eat the chin” kisses for Daddy!!

AGAIN – slacking in my blogging… Here are a few families that I have recently photographed! I just love to see how family members interact with one another & feel blessed to be the one to capture those moments!!

I have been slacking with my blog, but what a better way to bring in the new year with an ADORABLE baby! She was almost 2 weeks old for the photo session & really showed us what she thought about it all! She was diaperless for quite a bit of the shoot and made quite a few messes, but then crashed and let me play
I LOVE photographing newborns – they are just so sweet – those little noises, adorable facial expressions and uncontrollable movements – SO, SO CUTE.
Congratulations on your beautiful baby girl!!!

I just wanted to take a few minutes to thank everyone for a wonderful year! You have all changed my life in ways you cannot even imagine. I have been blessed to have been able to meet newborn babies just days after they were born and to celebrate milestones such as first smiles, sitting up, first steps, first birthdays, laughter among families, graduating seniors, wonderful couples celebrating engagement, beautufil brides meeting their handsome grooms for the first time. I have had SO MUCH FUN and I thank you for sharing these moments with me and I hope that I was able to capture the memories for you, so you will always remember & enjoy them forever!
On another note – we have decided to put our house on the market and move back to the Twin Cities area. My husband accepted a job in Bloomington, so when our house sells, we will be heading up that way. We are planning on staying in the southern suburbs, so not too far for those of you in the Mankato area, and for those of you in the Cities – I’ll just be closer!! I will keep you posted!
Have a safe and Happy Christmas!

This family has such an amazing relationship… they just have so much fun! Of course, the kids pester eachother a little bit, but they joke around and laugh a lot. The first image of them cracking up just makes me smile & warms my heart.
They have been through a rough year with the daughter being diagnosed with POTS (Postular Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome) and cyclical vomiting. She has been in and out of the hospital for a year now & has seen many specialists to try to figure it all out. Please say some prayers for her & her health as she is currently in the hospital again…

I know how much you are missing your puppy right now, so these are for you – I hope you return home, healthy, SOON!!

This senior session was so much fun! I hope that he enjoyed it (just a little?!) We spent some time in the studio and then headed to a state park for some outdoor shots. We ended up hiking around & his Mom and I watched as he tried to jump from a little island back to land… he only ended up with one wet shoe! I asked for a couple serious looks throughout the session, but he has such a great smile… those are my favorites.

He lead the Loyola football team in sacks this year & is hoping to play football next year when he goes off to college. I wish you luck with all you do!

I photographed this little guy for the first time when he was only 6 months old – the family drove up from Blue Earth for the session. Now they live close by – yay! When we’re out for walks we can see this little guy from far away – his hair has always been so white – so cute!
He wasn’t a big smiler for us for this session, but we still got a couple out of him…

Can you tell I’ve been having fun playing in the weeds lately?!
We spent most of our time in the studio playing football, pushing around cars and reading books, but I also had this family make the trek out into the weeds. I think everyone had fun out in the field & look how cute the family looks & see how much the little guy LOVES being smooched by his big brother & sister!

This family is beautiful and they have a great sense of humor. Dad was busting out the tunes almost the whole session… either trying to entertain the youngest… or trying to annoy the older children… either way, it made for an entertaining session!
